Of course you are!  And all that means is that you’re normal and crazy like all the other normal crazy people.  Because if you’re looking forward you’re not all here – and here (and now) is the only place and time that you can live your life.  At least, looking forward to something pleasurable heightens the anticipation – but it often dampens the enjoyment when things don’t turn out to be quite as expected.   Quick question!   Cast your mind back to the best night out or best day you’ve ever had – was it what a client of mine recently called ‘planned fun’ or did the fun just happen spontaneously?

What’s my point?  Research shows that the vast majority of people are not focused on what they’re doing now.  That makes doing what you’re doing more difficult – makes life more of a struggle and constrains us from rising to the levels of exceptional happiness and success that we can all rise to if – and it’s a big if – if we could just focus our minds.

Looking forward breaks our focus and ensures that the biggest part of our mind – our subconscious – can continue to look backward into our past, firmly believing that it’s now!  Sounds bizarre, but that’s how the little man or woman in your head is operating.  And it’s got pretty much nothing to do with now.
So stop looking forward, start seeing what’s before your very eyes – it could be the opportunity of a lifetime.
