As normal people, we’re all suffering from a grievous addiction – we’re addicted to what passes for the comfort of our ordinary everyday lives.  We’re not uncomfortable enough to do something about living the life that we could really live. 

A couple of weeks ago I received a very abusive email from someone who told me that she didn’t need to ‘break out’ of her normal life – that she was quite happy ‘going to the shops, washing the car, doing the laundry and collecting the children’.  But that is actually my point.  As normal people we take comfort in our routine and, in doing so, miss the wonder that life has on offer every single day.  Yeah, maybe it’s nice to have your routine but routine numbs the mind and familiarity breeds contempt.

If you go through your normal life having simply gone through the motions of normal routine living, you’ll have missed out on something special, not just something special for you – but something special for the next crop of normal crazy people that you will have brought up in this crazy world of ours.
